Croatian developer Gamepires announced the start of preorders for its game Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage, one week before release. The vehicular combat title will launch on PC on May 4, 2012 and is currently in open Beta.
Preorders discount the game 20% and so buying ahead of time will cost $25.59. North American residents can place an order through Gamefly, while Europeans can use Cenega. When the game releases, it will be available on a wide variety of digital formats as well as a retail release courtesy of Lace Mamba Global at a later date.
Chiming in the good news are a select amount of new screenshots depicting racecars with missile launchers plastered against them. For those wondering about the reality of the screenshot accuracy; Gas Guzzlers can actually look that impressive, complete with clean detail and genuine reflection. Unfortunately, as previously announced, the Beta is currently poorly optimized and that made the racing game chug along on moderate setups to as little as a few frames per second on lowest settings. Therefore, players wanting to gaze at the vehicular destruction better get the lead out with their gaming rig.
